de GRISOGONO tells the time and the date… transparently
When it comes to creativity, Fawaz Gruosi is always ahead of the game. With the Instrumento Grande Open Date, the huge inventiveness of this genuine trendsetter is displayed in a resolutely masculine and original timepiece. A watch with an open dial… because it has nothing to hide and everything to show.
The newest arrival in the Instrumento collection combines the legibility and functions inherited from the Instrumento Grande with an extremely original design. With its open dial revealing two exceptionally large date discs, the Grande Open Date unites practicality and pleasure: practicality, because it's always useful to have a calendar within sight; pleasure, because the man of elegance who wears it on his wrist cannot fail to enjoy the unending dialogue of tens and units at 6 o'clock. Like previous watch designs by Fawaz Gruosi, the Grande Open Date brilliantly combines technical innovation and bold design. And it does so transparently.

Defying the rules of geometry
Two perfect circles cut through by the rigorous lines of a rectangle, a motive of triangles contrasting with the right angles of the case. With the Grande Open Date, de GRISOGONO casts the rules of geometry in a new light by presenting a harmonious combination of curves, straight lines and angles. The engine-turned brass dial, open and divided into quarters, reveals two large discs with overlapping display indicating the date in a transfer aperture at 6 o'clock. Offset at 3 o'clock, they add a further touch of originality to the formal elegance of this modern and refined timepiece. To perfect this design in perpetual motion, the Instrumento Grande Open Date features a number of original details.
The large dauphine hands are coated with Superluminova to match the rose gold case, as are the bevelled indexes that interpret the slow rotation of the discs at 3 o'clock, 9 o'clock and 12 o'clock.
Revealing the secrets of its heart
Following the example of the Instrumento Grande, the time shown by the Grande Open Date is displayed in an exceptionally large case. A delightfully proportioned rectangle, oriented horizontally, with fully rounded contours top and bottom: ingenious, dynamic, and surprising. The new design from Fawaz Gruosi will delight lovers of curiosities. Not content with unveiling its secrets through its open dial, it also lays bare its heart thanks to an opening in the side of the case. A sapphire crystal at 9 o'clock allows the movement to be observed from an unusual angle.
Produced in rose gold only, the Grande Open Date is nonetheless available with a range of dials: brown with chocolate-coloured discs and white numerals; black with white discs and black numerals; or silver with white discs and black numerals. Three resolutely masculine versions which, like the timepiece itself, will delight all men of elegance in search of a touch of originality.
