International luxury brand, Montblanc celebrated its centennial with a grandiose presentation of its exhibition titled "Timeless Splendours: An Exhibition in Celebration of a Century of Passion and Soul", complemented with an exclusive launch party attended by 300 by-invite only guests at the Ngee Ann City, Civic Plaza last Thursday (Jaw note, 17th August 2006) evening.

The magnificent Montblanc set up, a harmonious reflection of the characteristics of time-honoured brand; personified the luxury brand’s values of tradition and permanence, success and culture, sophistication and exclusivity.

Guests, made up of society’s prominent individuals, celebrities, Montblanc’s VIP customers, business associates and media friends, were mesmerized by the chic-pomposity exuded by "Timeless Splendours: An Exhibition in Celebration of a Century of Passion and Soul", a display that was opened for public viewing from 18 – 20 August 2006.

The first arrival of guests at the Montblanc – Ngee Ann City boutique, left an impressionable sight, with a presentation of Montblanc’s special 100 years limited editions, Guests then followed the classy black carpet that ushered the way into two specially constructed Montblanc tents, where an even greater and opulent sight awaited.

Nine magnificent two-dimensional exhibits that showcased Montblanc’s historical and splendid milestones were displayed amidst the exclusive and specially flown in Montblanc centennial highly exclusive limited editions – The Montblanc 100 years Solitaire Mountain Massif Skeleton writing instrument, the Star Chronograph GMT Perpetual Calendar, the Profile Lady Elegance Watch and the Sports Tantalum timepieces.

The stunning and electrifying performance by sexy musicians – San Nikkis, prepped guests with exciting offerings of the evening’s event. Following the welcome speech by Ms. Catherine Ang, Managing Director, Montblanc SEA Pte. Ltd., and Mr. King Chau, Regional Marketing Director, Montblanc Asia Pacific, the beautiful Timeless Splendours: An Exhibition in Celebration of a Century of Passion and Soul" was then officially unveiled with prompt disposition of Pyrotechnics, that brought the event to a higher state of climax.

Montblanc’s Timeless Splendours: An Exhibition in Celebration of a Century of Passion and Soul, a puzzle made up of 4,810 individual pieces (a number that is synonymous with the height of the mountain Mont Blanc), forming a circle – visually capturing and depicting the evolution of 100 years of Montblanc, was inaugurated.

A distinctive fashion parade followed thereafter, choreographing the varied elements and product categories As models sashayed down the runway with Montblanc’s 100 years limited editions writing instruments and timepieces in-hand, accompanying the fashion presentation, was a grooving and exhilarating performance by renowned producer/arranger/song writer and rapper – Terry Lee and singer/songwriter – Vanessa Fernandez; stirring guests to a hyped-up and upbeat mood with songs specially composed for this momentous occasion.

An evening of jazz, rhythm and blues and hip hop music genres, decked with diamonds and booze, marked the festivity of Montblanc’s centennial celebrations "Timeless Splendours: An Exhibition in Celebration of a Century of Passion and Soul".

Guests were high-spirited as they departed with a special commemorative door gift from the Montblanc’s 100 years celebratory – a gold plated book mark with the silhouette and imprint of the Montblanc pen nib, numbered with the significant numerals 4810 – a symbol that has for generations, been indistinguishable with the art of writing, perfection and eminence.
