Audmars Piguet & BP De Silva Penang, Malaysia to host Exclusive Dinner and Exhibition on 21st to 23rd July, 2006.

A renowned painter whose works have inspired a limited series of Reverso à eclipses, Mr. Hiroshi Senju paid a visit to the Manufacture on Friday April 7th. After a tour of the brand’s booth at the SIHH in Geneva, the Japanese artist came to admire the work of the Jaeger-LeCoultre artisans in the Vallée de Joux. This gave him an opportunity to become better acquainted with the world of watches and to discover the enamelling workshops where the paintings inspired by his works were created.

This May, three of the world’s most celebrated watchmakers will tour South-East Asia together and showcase their incomparable timekeeping creations – contemporary horological art that challenge the boundaries of watch innovation and constructivism.

Audemars Piguet is sponsoring collector dinners in Singapore (23rd. May 2006) & Kuala Lumpur (25th. May 2006) for the regional watch enthusiasts. This is a rare opportunity to see some of the SIHH-2006 novelties and meet the brand’s walking-Encyclopedia Martin Wehrli.

Effective 1st July, 2006, Antiquorum Deputy Chairman Dominique Bernaz will join Vacheron Constantin to head the Geneva Boutique and the Heritage Centre.

Since his appointment as the CEO of the Swatch Group Limited in January 2003, the 52 year old G. Nick Hayek has asserted his strong presence both in his group of companies and the Swiss Watch Industry as a whole.

This interview was conducted at the City of Time exhibition ground in the heart of Geneva on 6th April 2006, just one day before the exhibition International Media Launch. Mr. G. Nick Hayek spoke at length about his group of companies, especially the City of Time public Exhibition showcasing the work of Swatch Group subsidiary, Nivarox-FAR S.A.

In a separate meeting with his father, Nicholas G. Hayek, the still active and dynamic 78 year Chairman of the Group explained to us the importance of Nivarox-FAR S.A. and the City of Time exhibition.

Exactly one month after the Geneva SIHH watch fair opening on 3rd April 2006, a privileged group of collectors were invited to view the new Jaeger-LeCoultre watches at the prestigious China Club in Singapore.

Seven-time GP motorcycling world champion Valentino Rossi displayed his keen interest in high-end Swiss watchmaking during his visit to the Manufacture Jaeger-LeCoultre in Le Sentier on Wednesday April 26th 2006.

It was at the inauguration ceremony of the Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie on 3 April that Juan-Carlos Torres - CEO of Vacheron Constantin - presented the timepiece Jubilé 1755 to the city of Geneva’s Watch, Clock and Enamel Museum, in the presence of its curator, Ms Estelle Fallet, and the Director of the city of Geneva’s Museum of Art and History, Mr Cäsar Menz.

15 short-listed contestants were invited to witness the Revolution Lucky Draw final balloting sponsored by Jaeger-LeCoultre. Except for the one contestant who was still in Turkey, all the 14 turned up at the Kuala Lumpur Jaeger-LeCoultre boutique (managed by Swiss Union) on the evening of 5th May 2006.

In a major reshuffle, F.J. Benjamin founder Frank Benjamin has stepped down as the Group CEO effective 29th April 2006. Frank, age 71, has held this position since founding F.J. Benjamin in 1959 and will continue to serve as Executive Chairman and play a primary role in defining the Group’s overall strategy and vision.

In his 17 years of leading Montblanc (1987 - 2004), the pragmatic no-nonsense Norbert Platt has successfully transformed the brand to a mass-luxury power house from a relatively niche player.

Alfred Dunhill Limited bought Montblanc in 1977 and by the time Norbert Platt was appointed the Group CEO of Richemont Group in September 2004, he has left the brand he revived solidly as the second biggest in the Richemont stables of luxury brands, both in terms of total revenue and net profit.

This second part of two interviews was conducted in 6th April 2006 in the Richemont’s new Headquarter in Geneva, when Mr. Platt has lead the Richemont for one and a half year, a time when the financial performance is great.
